Is it okay to "chew" this supplement instead of swallow it?!

Question: Is it okay to "chew" this supplement instead of swallow it?
I have been anemic for 4 years now--on and off. I have tried everything from liquid iron to tiny iron supplemental pills but I just mentally CAN'T take pills of any kind. So liquid seemed to work but now that I'm at college, it would just be way easier to just pop in a pill and be done with it. However, I still can't take pills...but today I went to buy this supplement called Blood Builder and the lady at the vitamin store said it works wonderfully and it's the best one they have. Now, this product is a PILL but it doesn't look like one. It's round and has that starchy "chewy" substance (not like a gummy..but definitely a pill that you can chew in your mouth. Think of it as a sweet tart). it looks JUST like a chewable vitamin even though it's not. So I bought it, and right away popped it in my mouth and chewed it up. It tasted absolutely horrible but if that's what I gotta do...then I'll do it. SO my question is...is it okay for me to chew these instead of take them as a pill? It's been about an hour since I took it and my stomach feels a little odd but not too bad at all. Is this okay or will I get different side effects than if I were to swallow it? I attached the link so you can see if you find something about being able to chew it that i've missed? THANK YOU so much!!!!

Yes, it OK to chew supplements. However, as with most supplements you should take them with food.

An important issue for you is to determine WHY you have been anemic for 4 years? What is the CAUSE of the anemia? For example, do you have undiagnosed Celiac Disease? A bleeding ulcer? etc.

Best wishes and good luck.
