yes.

by a trained Dutch medical doctor who also trained in China,

I went for anxiety.........fell asleep lol.........

but it came back when i stopped.

I do believe it works . Absolutely.

Friends of mine could quit smoking etc.. I did not but am not their clones.

Everybody is different :what works for one might not for someonelse. I tried hypnosis..did not do anything to me but it is not because I DID NOT experience the benefits ,..heck not cheap ..would have preferred it worked..that I am going to be close minded !!

They know stuff over there about meridians, chakras etc which the WESTERN medicine might not be able to see..does not mean it does not work !

Best thing is : enter with a skepical mind first..and see what it does to you.

many people in the West still deny without even having tried it. An attitude which I find baffling !

Yoga is now widely accepted and some forms have to do with meditation, chakras etc.

It does not mean because you do not see it nor can explain it that it does not exist !

How many inventions used nowaday came as "intuitive thoughts or in dreams " ? Many many many..

Yes. It's very effective for a wide variety of conditions. I used it for mobility/sports injuries and it worked like a charm. I felt more energized overall too.
Recent studies involved using MRI to map areas of the brain affected by proper needling technique vs. improper/sham insertion of acupuncture needles. Predictably the proper technique yielded results and the phoney technique didn't.
This therapy has helped millions of people for a wide variety of health problems.
In Canada quite a number of MD's have taken certification courses in acupuncture. In the US the AMA tries to restrict MD's from doing anything but prescribe drugs. It's foolish.
There are a number of local and national registries of certified acupuncturists/TCM practitioners that you can search to find someone qualified closest to you.

Unfortunately, all you've received here is stories about people who had acupuncture that COINCIDED with them feeling better. That's all it is, COINCIDENCES.

Quite simply, if treating someone was as easy and as cheap as poking them with a few needles, then your doctor would recommend it and it would be used in hospitals. Of course this is not the case because acupuncture does not work.

Acupuncture is filed under UFOs, the Yeti and witches on broomsticks. They make for great stories but evidence for them is basically non-existent or comprises of interesting anecdotes from perceptively poor individuals.

Hi, here is my answer. I don't think anyone has had the experience in receiving acupuncture treatment. As you know, acupuncture originated in China, yet not every Chinese has tried acupuncture, because acupuncture is mainly used to treat rheumatism arthritis, joints pains or back pains. As for some other diseases, it is not suitable to have acupuncture.

I am doctor from Guilin International Medical Exchange Center, China. We specialize in natural therapy for different diseases. We also provide health consultation service. If you have any questions about acupuncture or your health, please contact me for more information.

Anecdotes are not evidence unfortunately. Acupuncture lacks plausibility, it was developed by ancient cultures which had no model of how the human body works. It has been thoroughly tested; the overall literature shows that it works no better than placebo, and it doesn't matter where the needles are inserted. This demonstrates that there is no such thing as meridians, acupuncture points or Qi, which is consistent with their lack of physical evidence.

EDIT: @girl, so the ancient Chinese had a better knowledge of the human body than modern medical science? REALLY? These are people who had no idea about germ theory.... You actually think that and you call ME a moron???

EDIT: @girl, you have changed your answer to remove your comments about the ancient Chinese having a better knowledge of the human body than modern medicine. That's an EPIC FAIL.

I'd recommend acupuncture or dry needling for musculoskeletal complaints but not for something like dizziness, fatigue or anxiety. In my experience acupuncture is a treatment for the site it's used on only, it can't cure systemic problems like fatigue.

hey, i am studying to be an acupuncturist in australia. acupuncture would definitely be able to help as it is all about balancing out the energy flow in your body. one thing out of sync can cause all kinds of problems so it could me something quite easily relieved. do you sleep well? have a red/flushed face? what are your headaches like? sharp or dull?

I have several friends that have had nothing but good to say. These were issues that they couldn't get remidied by their MD's.

Eating well and walking can always help too.

I have the same symptoms, and acupuncture worked wonders. Just go to your doctor first and get a recommendation of a good place. I've heard very bad stories from friends who went to bad places, so I went to my doctor and got a great acupuncturist.

Yes, I have had it many times for stress and anxiety and it works great.

Yes, pull a muscle in my neck really bad. It was great. Best medicine I have ever had.
