The upper limit for a person of your age seems to be 800 iu. [1,2] Now that doesn't mean that is the dose that is right for you. You would want to consult with your parents and your doctor to determine the best does for yourself.

You might consider some other supplements first before trying vitamin E. Vitamin A is a great supplement for skin health and if you were to take it in the form of cod liver oil you would get the benefits of the healthy omega 3 fats and vitamin D. [3] Another supplement that is a good option is vitamin B5. You could try it as part of a b-complex to see if you notice any results. The last supplement I would recommend would be zinc. Zinc is a important nutrient that not only contributes to healthy skin, but it is also important to your immune system as well. [4] You should be able to find a multi-vitamin designed especially for teenagers that might contain all of the above.

Finally one last option would be to apply vitamin e oil topically to the skin. You can find many products that contain vitamin e or you could buy vitamin e oil and just rub it right in. It might be helpful for trouble spots that break out due to stress, illness, etc.
