Viruses do not conform to our understanding of what life is. They are just basically bits of genetic material that get into cells and take over and reproduce themselves. They also have a nifty way of re-arranging their genetic material that gives them the ability to avoid detection sometimes. It is more complicated than that, but that is the basic idea of what they are.

Therefore, we don't have any way of fighting them. Antibiotics work by interfering with the life cycle of bacteria. This is not effective for virus since they are not alive therefore they have no life cycle (or at least how we define it). The human body is amazing in that the immune system is able to identify these bits of genetic material and capture them and learn what they are and then can make new cells to eat up the virus! If mankind could tap into this ability or make nanobots that could identify and destroy virus then we could cure them. So get to work on that and when you achieve it you will be the most famous person in human history, win the nobel prize and save the lives of millions of people! LOL

This is a brilliant critique of why vaccines are harmful to humans and other species and explains how viruses impact us.
Viruses are essentially proteins that contain DNA and RNA. They cannot replicate without a host. There will never be a "cure" for a virus, but there are cures for people who become affected by them -- not in conventional medicine however.

The reason is that they hijack our own cells for their own reproduction, as they lack the ability to reproduce on their own, unlike say bacteria or fungi. Therefore, anything that attacks the virus, must naturally attack our own bodies. This poses a really tricky dilemma.

This is something huge - try to wrap your head around this - - technically, they aren't alive.

Mindblowing stuff, really.

Vaccines are a cure, and there are many virus vaccines. Your question makes no sense.
