Can fresh ginger make you nauseous?!

Question: Can fresh ginger make you nauseous?
I have a problem with nausea, and yesterday morning it was bad. So I munched on a few slices of fresh ginger root. In a matter of about 30 minutes I was so nauseous I could barely stand. At the time I had only had a smoothie. Is it possible the ginger had the opposite of the desired effect? Or was it something unrelated?

Answers:

You probably munched too much. Fresh ginger is quite strong. A few drops of fresh ginger juice in a glass of water would have probably been okay. A quarter tsp. of dried ginger in 8 oz. of water is a better measurable remedy.
Figure out what's causing the nausea and treat that rather than trying to figure out what to do when you get nauseous. It works better.

I find that when i look at a ginger i become nauseous.

Maybe.
