Question: I want to try Keto-7. Does anyone know anything about it?
It enhances diet and exercise and helps you to lose weight. I don't know if it is safe or not. I heard good things, but supposedly there are down sides as well. If you know anything about it please tell me.

First you should know that your body produces 7-Keto naturally and that your body's own production starts to decline around the age of 30. So a young person would probably have little to gain by taking this supplement.

The safety factor is mixed. On the positive side consider the following quote: "Studies have demonstrated that 7-Keto does not accumulate in the body over time and is free of unhealthy side effects. An analysis of the metabolite at the Chicago Center for Clinical Research found that 7-Keto is rapidly absorbed and sulfated, much like DHEA.3" [1] However long term studies have not been conducted to my knowledge so that is something to consider as well.

One of the factors to consider is that it does not convert to testosterone or estrogen which is a plus. However that doesn't mean that 7-Keto is without risk. Side effects can be harder to reverse since you are dealing with hormones. Most vitamins or minerals for example would just be flushed out of your system. So a person would have to weigh the benefits versus the risks. Human studies are limited as well so that would be another consideration.

If a person were to try 7-Keto the best time to take it would be in the morning. [2] The idea is to mimic your body's own natural production. So in your case, if your goal is weight loss you may want to consider other alternatives before going the 7-Keto route. Alternatives include: protein shakes as snacks, fiber supplements before meals, and drinking more water ( a natural appetite suppressant). [3]
