Short answer - Yes
Long Answer - Since both medications can cause sedation, the only concern is becoming overly sedated. The software I use at work to check for drug interactions for patients ranks all drug interactions on a 1 to 4 scale: 1 caution advised, 2 serious, 3 serious enough to change or reduce the dose of one of the offending agents, and 4 death can occur. The interaction between Phenergan (promethazine) and Ativan (lorazepam) is a level 1, in other words, it is worth mentioning but no harm should occur.
My advice would be to err on the side of caution and when taking both medication together, only take half of what the maximum dose is for each medication. The maximum dose for Ativan is 10mg a day (don't take more than 5mg a day) and the maximum dose of Phenergan is 50mg a day (don't take more than 25mg a day). I'm willing to bet the prescribed dose is much lower than what I am stating, but am including these figures for reference.
