Can someone please tell me whats wrong with me?!

Question: Can someone please tell me whats wrong with me?
Okay so i just got prescribed to this A.D.D medicine called Strattera yesterday. Now when i try to sleep its impossible. As soon as i start to doze off my heart feels weird (i cant explain how it feels) and it scares me so i wake up. This happened last night, but it was worse tonight. See the reason i got prescribed it was because earlier this week the weirdest thing happened. Out of no where it felt like my heart jumped in my chest, and i almost blacked out. Ever since then my hearts been doing that, except i didnt feel like i was going to pass out. So we went to the doctor and he just said it was my anxiety. Im too young for him to prescribe me anything for anxiety. SO he prescribed me this shitty pill which i regret. Can someone tell me WTF is going on with me?

One of the best thing you can use for anxiety doesn't require a prescription from a doctor. You can buy Valerian in liquid form from a health food store. Work with the recommended dosage to find out how much you need. I find the effects kick in after about 20 minutes.

I also suggest you make an effort to find out what is causing the anxiety. While it is good to help yourself feel better with something like Valerian, you don't want to be dependent on anything in the long term.

Good luck!

You are having a reaction to the medicine. The Dr. should have recognized that fact. Find another Dr.

there are natural alternatives that won't make you worse or maybe kill you. who needs the quack pill pushers?

Other than making sure your doctor knows that you are having side effects --------

I would suggest that you look at your diet because it SOUNDS like you are having heart palipitations. These are something that I used to have and a decent doctor (finally) diagnosed me with hypoglycemia - which can cause heart palipitations. So can some other things but that is what was causing it for me. Don't expect your doctor to agree. Many don't recognize hypoglycemia in patients who are not diabetic and so are now refusing to do the proper tests for it.

I had to make sure that I was eating enough protein at frequent intervals through-out the day. I used to carry almonds and individual string cheese packages in my pocket so I would always have a high protein snack handy. Don't skip meals. Eat nutritious food. Reduce or eliminate refined foods and sweets. Drink enough water.
These steps helped reduce the palipitations SIGNIFICANTLY! (as well as some other symptoms like headaches, etc)
