Sleep is not an option; it is required, just like food, water and oxygen. Lack of sleep prevents rejuvenation and repair of the body and hinders brain function. Sleep deprivation is dangerous in that it may cause a person to fall asleep while driving; drop a baby while feeding him; and to be unable to perform at work. It also can lead to broken relationships through dysfunctional behavior or psychosis. Therefore, recuperative sleep must be achieved to be at your best mentally and physically.

Meletonin. I have realy bad anxiety n what not. And I've been on Meletonin for quite a while its the only thing that helps me. I mean i've tried other perscription things like Ambien and stuff but it didnt even touch me. Meletonin is what your body naturally produces, just sometimes it doesnt make enough or other factors play into it. But Meletonin isnt expensive and its over the counter so you dont need a perscription. You wanna start out with 3mg and then go up to 9 if necesarry ONLY. You cant take more than 10 or youll overdose lol. So i only need to take 2 to go to sleep.

You will need to turn the lamp and tv off; herb supplements available are not that strong as to knock you out (narcotic herbs are not legally available). They will help calm you and soothe your nerves, and this sounds like a good idea for you. I used to use skullcap herb to help my kids sleep.

Valerian tea is said to help sedate the nerves.

And yes, melatonin.
