Not sure what you mean by mouthpiece near the heater. Perhaps the part you're talking about is the glass where the material goes, that gets very dirty.

first off, it gets dirtier if people burn bowls. Try to encourage people to inhale harder, or turn down the temp. If you use different herbal materials or tobacco, you may want a separate glass piece for them, because they can stink up the glass,, ruining the flavor of other herbal materials.

second, remove the glass piece by pulling it off the hose or cut the hose off.
then it can be cleaned; there are a few ways, rubbing alcohol being one, or a glass pipe cleaner solution, or boiling. Some people go through the effort to scrape out the glass instead of cleaning it first and smoke the remains. It's very effective.

If you are talking about the glass around the heating element, I don't know why that would be dirty

If you are really talking about the mouth piece, i don't know why it would be dirty either, but clean it with alcohol
