Starting to dislike JROTC?!

Question: Starting to dislike JROTC?
I'm currently in JROTC and I keep reconsidering being in it. My goals in it were to be able to get college paid for, go in to the Air Force as an officer. I'm starting to find it uninteresting and almost like a cult. What I want to do in life, I don't think the Air Force offers.. I plan to do something with nutrition or alternative medicine. I am wondering if it's worth staying in JROTC or not and what the benefits of doing so are. I guess it's a lot better than a lot of other electives but I feel there's other electives that may interest me more. I'm currently a freshman in high school.

OK i now how you feel because ive been there i wanted to quit my self and i decided to tough it out and i can only say im glad i stayed. Now you may be right about the Air Force it isnt for everyone but i highly reccomend staying in JROTC it can help get into colleges by just having on your resume and help increase your chance of getting scholorships trust me the reccomendation of a retired military officer and NCO as im sure you have can go a LONG way no matter the career you choose.

Hello, I am C/ 1st Lt. Schaefer, Crystal of Ca-932 AFJROTC and I understand your situation completly. I wanted to quit my sophmore year becuase of all the drama and B.S. that was spreading around in the Corp. nobody wanted to do thier job and they gave out promotions as if it was candy. I hated it and I still do. But you know what? Don't quit becuase its what they want you to do. Stay in and once you are in charge you can take all the bad people out and put the ones that do deserve to be in there. You seem like a good cadet and I am sure you are. Keep your held held high and believe in the Corp. You will get through it. Trust me. Good luck!

i had jrotc as a freshman in highscool as well and i hated it, never dressed up showed up all the time but was never that into it, i ended up getting a d+ which in highschool is passing, anyway i quit the class the next semester and continued with p.e until my junior year when we didnt it anymore, now ive been out of highschool for 3 years now graduated 08 and i recently just enlisted in the army national guard and its crazy how at one point i didnt like the whole thing i now i really do like it cuz i realize my future is 10x better with this discipline in my life and direction, maybe the full 24/7 soldiering isnt for you maybe u wanna be a part time soldier still serve your country and go to school to be a nutrionist or something in alternative medicine, anyway you put the air force has the air national guard which is a part time service and theyll help you pay for your schooling with whatever it is u wanna do and youll only serve part time in the service and still be able to go to school and accomplish what it is you want to while keeping that honor and tradition of military service..good luck
