Healing From A Gunshot Wound At Home?!

Question: Healing From A Gunshot Wound At Home?
What would have to be done for a patient that had a four day stay at the hospital, because of a gunshot wound and was sent home? The wound is on the left side, having hit the small intestine, but there was no infection and there was blood transfusion. Would it be better to keep the patient in a bed and then after so long, allow them to stay on the couch? Or should they stay in bed?
Also would there be a specific diet that the doctor would put the patient on? Or would the regular diet be ok?
What kind of pain medicine would be given? Would ibuprofen do the trick or would the doctor prescribe something stronger? If the ibuprofen would do the trick, how many would be taken at one time?

The doctor who did the surgery, most gun shot wounds require some type, would prescribe pain medication and antibiotics. As for what to do once the person gets home, that easy do what the doctor has said to do, bed or couch makes no difference. If the person has been shot and has not been to the hospital call 911 now, it can turn septic in a hurry and they can die from the infection.

There is no infection at this point in time. At home, make sure to take the antibiotics and if needed, pain medications that the doctor prescribed. As for activity level, couch or bed no difference. Do what the doctor ordered. If you don't know what to do, call the hospital or doctor and ask for more guidance. Best of luck to you and God speed.

Ibuprofen is a pain killer and a anti inflammatory Tablet..To cure wounds you need antibiotics..
