Physioptheraphy what is it exactly?!

I just have a doubt do physiotherapist also do some massages some place I went couple of months ago did it, but recently I went to a place where the lady spent just 5 minutes with me to teach exercises and I was done for that she will probably get $120 from my insurance, I have neck and shoulder pain, stress related.
I get acupuncture for which I have to pay out of pocket, and probably the acupuncturist gets paid less than the physical therapist as she did more work for me did some massage and acupuncture, doesn't seem fair, if insurance pays my physiotherapy I really want to get my money's worth that is a massage from him/her if its part of their treatment, I did see her give massage to someone else so did she just think she can fool me!!
of course I am going to ask them the second time I go there but I want to be better armed as to what a physiotherapist supposed to do in my case.
