Also they say to 'channel' your crystal by saying out loud what you want it to do and creating a vision of this, but doesn't that sound a bit easy? And what different would it make if you say it or think it?

I'm afraid it's total and utter nonsense of the highest order.
Crystals are inert lumps of rock. There's really no difference between them and any other piece of rock apart from a few chemical differences and the fact that crystals tend to be translucent and quite pretty.
Crystals: They're not used in hospitals or by doctors for a very good reason, they don't work.
No, it's new age rubbish designed to sell books and overpriced rocks. There is not one shred of plausibility or evidence to support crystal healing. Any positive reports you hear about will be primarily due to placebo effect. Only gullible people prone to magical thinking fall for the crystal healing scam.

Some people do think they have healing powers, but I don't know if it could work for you. Maybe you could try it with one stone for like one problem.
I think trying to talk yourself into something might work, since actually a lot can be achieved by "mindplaying" and just creating a habit for yourself. Some people use it even to manipulate you; so I guess words and habituation can be powerful.
