PLEASE HELP!! whats the best way to treat my horses eye?!

Question: PLEASE HELP!! whats the best way to treat my horses eye?
I am stuck in flood waters and cant get a vet out to me and my horse fell over and has a few grazes and scratches all over but I am worried most about his eye. there is a large scrape just above the eye and now the eye has swollen up, does anyone have any suggestions how to treat this at all?

Wash the cuts and abrasions with warm soapy water to clean them and apply Hydrogen Peroxide to disinfect. This is just basic First Aid. If you can get some Calendula Cream and apply it to the cuts it will heal them 50% faster than anything you can find. You can safely bathe his eye with salt water compresses (use 1/4 tsp. sea salt in 8 oz. of hot water and let it cool to body temperature).
Euphrasia eye drops are excellent for getting rid of redness and swelling after you have bathed it. If you can't find some then continue to bathe the eye on a regular basis.
If there is a professional Homeopath in the neighbourhood, give them a call. There are homeopathic remedies that act quicker and are a lot cheaper than antibiotics.
Consulting a vet and paying a huge fee for basic first aid is ludicrous.
As I've expostulated before, anti-holistic trolls on this site haven't even taken a first aid course, let alone anything more advanced.

Hi Al, I guess you're in QLD like me. I hope things improve soon for you.

So you have asked this question in 'alternative medicine' and that is a mistake, you are likely to get many crank answers here. I see you have asked the same question in the 'Horses' category - that's good. But I think you should use your internet to find a vet and either email or phone them for proper advice.

Good luck.

EDIT: @thenoseknows, you need to stop telling lies. How dare you tell people homeopathy works better than antibiotics. That is absolutely FALSE. Any homeopathy above 13C contains NOT ONE MOLECULE of active ingredient. Homeopathy cannot and does not work better than antibiotics. If you dispute this, please go ahead and POST YOUR EVIDENCE. Otherwise please go and crawl back under your rock.
