muscular pain due to detox diet?!

Question: Muscular pain due to detox diet?
my wife is on a detox diet because she is on the edge of getting diabetes, the diet is based on juices (carrot, apple, orange, potatoes, celery, bead, etc)
the problem is that she has a lot of muscular pain as well of swollen muscles.
what can it be or what can I do?

Answers:

Your wife needs to be very careful making any kind of dietary changes--she should definitly talk to her doctor or nutritionist. Muscle pain is often a symptom of an electrolyte imbalance.
An imbalance of potassium, calcium, or magnesium can cause muscle cramping.

Well detox diets are BS. 'Detox' has no meaning outside of the clinical treatment of drug addiction or poisoning. The concept started as a scam to sell products, it has now developed into a naturopathic fad. And that juice diet does not sound either healthy nor beneficial to me.

It is important that she eats well. Here is information regarding proper diet for diabetes management: http://www.diabetesaustralia.com.au/en/L…

The pain and swelling has nothing to do the 'release of toxins'. I seriously think your wife should get to a proper doctor, ASAP.
