Is it possible to take too much probiotics?!


Question: Is it possible to take too much probiotics?
to counter a course of anti-biotics I am taking probiotics, can I over do it? I having a yakult a day and yoghourt as well.

There was a doctor in Boston who published a study on the matter years ago, it was quickly de-bunked.

Probiotics aren't much different than any other substance that is digested - most of them are dissolved by hydrochloric acid - so most of them die anyhow.

Don't worry, I don't think it's quite possible to eat anything close to "too much" from natural sources such as food. Besides, most of our evidence that probiotics do any good at all are from cultures where those foods are eaten.



It is possible if you are taking it in powder or tablet form (concentrated). However, I doubt you could stomach enough yakult and yoghurt to get too much. One of the most obvious effects of too much is diarrhea.



I doubt it!! For best results you should use probiotic supplement!!
