Does anyone here have Fibromyalgia?!

Question: Does anyone here have Fibromyalgia?
if so how do you handle your pain? without medication?

Answers:

REAL fms has nothing to do with thyroid or vitamin D

a thyroid or vitamin problem could be MISDIAGNOSED as fms

education helps the most

docs are usually clueless, they falsely label any ache or pain as FMS, but it is not a general label for pain

most people actually have something else like Lymes, MS, thyroid, vitamin issue...

be sure you educate yourself--don't blindly follow the doctor--he is most likely wrong--if not on the diagnosis--on how to treat it

I have fibromyalgia, and I don't function with out medication, but there is some natural herbal preparations that have also been helpful with fibro.

People with low Vitamin D levels, do have symptoms similar to Fibromyalgia, but with treatment the symptoms disappear, and not all fibromyalgia sufferers have low vitamin D levels. A good specialist in Fibromyalgia would have checked this before diagnosing Fibro.

Some of the herbal treatments are Magnesium/Malic Acid/B vitamin, 5-HTP (anti depressant), Melatonin and Valerian (for sleep), Omega 3, Acetyl L-Carnitine (pain). The link below will explain these treatments better.

The other thing is doing graded exercise (Tai chi, swimming, walking), limit alcohol and coffee, avoid stress, have a good sleep routine at night, keep your fluids up and eat a healthy balanced diet.

Try heat or cold packs for pain (everyone is different I prefer heat packs), massage etc can help too.

If working make sure your employer knows you have Fibro, and tell them what they can do to help you, this could be working one day on, one day off. Or if working full time, prioritize things, doing the most important stuff first, and if having a bad day let your boss or trusted colleague, so they can help you or reduce your work load for the day.

I work part time, and my employers know I have CFS & Fibro, and they let me work one day on, one day off, and if I have to work back to back, then I have a day off or they reduce my work load.
