I have a scientific method for treating hiccups that work by treating the source. The first thing I do is take ten FORCEFUL (operative word) gulps of water. This calms down the glottis in the diaphragm. Then I hold my breath for ten seconds. This starves it of air which calms down the spasm(s) of the glottis. I hope this helps for you.
