What is discussed as "Alternative Medicine", in this category..?!

Question: What is discussed as "Alternative Medicine", in this category..?
Thanks Much Peace & <3.

Answers:

Obviously anything that isn't actually medicine is discussed. Which is a wide field.

Remember, there is medicine and then there is the alternative to medicine.

As mentioned, anything that lacks evidence or has been proven to be medically useless is classified as "alternative medicine". If it worked, then it would simply be called 'medicine' and it would be used in hospitals around the world and would be prescribed by your doctor.

Intelligent scientists have looked at things such as homeopathy, reiki, crystal healing etc, tested them thoroughly and found them not to work. Of course, some gullible people (and those who are very desperate, perhaps due to a long term condition) are duped into believing fake treatments could work by slick salespeople who are willing to exploit others' illness.

The fact that people peddle this nonsense does not mean it works!

You got two typical first answers.

No1 : people who actually research about other stuff like the first poster. Add Ayurvedic, Chinese medicine, homeopathy, reiki, vitamins, etc.

No2 : the "against it" ones who have not researched anything and come here to put everything else but what they were taught at medical schools down. The "self congratulation society" of those who pride themselves on intellect alone but base their judgments on an emotional basis.

Lots of people turn to so called " alternative medicine" when the regular docs fail them. I am in that category.

Americans are kind of slow..Go to Europe and you will see plenty of so called "alternative" medicine not even labelled as "alternative"...

Yeah right Dave : would you call Dr Oz, a heart surgeon...stupid ?? At least he looks into alternative stuff !

Money..money...money...money !!

Why do you see so many over the counter stuff for the flu when it is known that there is NO CURE for the flu ??

Anything that claims to be able to cure diseases but has not yet been studied or has been found to be ineffective.

If it worked, it wouldn't be called "alternative medicine." It would just be called "medicine."

You got me...Best of luck!
