My feet have burning feeling on some nights. Its impossible to sleep. I am 37 an!

Question:

My feet have burning feeling on some nights. Its impossible to sleep. I am 37 and am not diabetic. Pls help?

I have seen doctors to no avail. Some doctors say it is a neural issue. The only way to avoid the burning is applying some cream but this too is a temporary solution. - Bath and body works sells some thing that I bought. - Turns it is like mouthwash with ethanol that cools the feet for 2 mins - Does not help - Other option that works is leaving the fan on and pointed to my feet.
Any help is appreciated. I am willing to try alternate medicine.

Answers:

Some suggestions for you to consider.

One is that Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) has been found to help diabetic neurophathy, even reversing what was thought to be permanent damage. It might help to take it for 6 to 8 weeks to see if you get improvement, even though diabetes is not the cause. ALA is good for the immune system overall. And a B-vitamin complex is good for healing the nervous system.

I've had sciatica from time to time and it can cause something similar in the feet, although rarely in both feet identically. Might consider having a chiropractor check your spinal alignment. Also good quality walking shoes and a well-made bed & springs.

And a third idea is to take Gingko biloba extract to increase the circulation in your extremities. It won't hurt you, although it has a slight blood-thinning effect.

One last thing to consider is that you might be retaining water. If your kidneys are not functioning properly, your legs will ache and feet burn. I'm sure the doctor, if he checked for diabetes, surely looked at your kidney function?
