Answers:

Thai weed is generally very weak in potency compared to the thoroughbred strains. Personally I like it because of that trait.

The thing with other, stronger, weed is not to smoke as much as and dose yourself accordingly, typically a dose of around 100-250mg is enough to alleviate any stressful thoughts for between 30 minutes and three hours, but not enough to make you stoned (which is when a person can then have anxiety attacks) .

At the end of the day THC is THC, some plants will have more THC (& CBD) in them than others. So think of weed in the way you would alcohol, the lighter varieties are low volume beers and the stronger varieties would be spirits, ie vodka-absinthe!

The other thing is that smoking is damaging to ones health, so bearing that in mind, the amount of time spent breathing in smoke should be considered. If you smoke a weaker strain you will inevitably have to smoke half to a whole joint, whereas if you have a strong variety then you may only have to have a single quick hit off a pipe to get the same effect (so you are smoking much less with a weaker strain). And holding smoke in your lungs should be avoided for optimal smoke related damage. Once the weed smoke (or any smoke to that matter) enters your respiratory system simply let it back out asap. As soon as the smoke goes in the damage to the blood vessels is already done, as is the chemical exchange which gets you high; but the longer you hold in the smoke the more damage is being done. You wont get more stoned from holding in the smoke. You might think you are but all you are doing is holding your breath (which has the same effect). (I saw this on a discovery science episode about cannabis smoking around the world).
