I was taught that you should not attempt to release kundalini without the aid of a trained practitioner OR without being trained yourself. If you can't find a teacher/practioner, I recommend the book Kundalini Awakening: A Guide to Chakra Activation and Spiritual Growth by John Selby. Good luck, but remember, kundalini energy is nothing to fool around with.
