Does anyone take acidophilus everyday?!

Does anyone take acidophilus everyday?

I know acidophilus is good when you are taking antibiotics to help prevent diarrhea. Or some people take when traveling. I was wondering if anyone took it everyday like a vitamin to help/aid in digestive? Would it be helpful or harmful with everday use? Thanks for any info in advance!

The only problem you would ever have from taking too much of it is that it would "close you up", making any bowel movements harder, or making you more constipated.

I have a medical condition---too much yeast in intestines--and I HAVE to take a lot of accidophilus daily, actually a few times daily, to keep myself "whole", meaning to keep myself from having diahrea. So most people will get by with the simple one or two tablets daily to MAINTAIN a normal balance.

While there are more expensive formulas or bottles that have a variety of acidophilus in each capsule or tablet, I find that plain and cheap Walmart does great for me, in fact it works better for me that the expensive brands, but that might be because I take so much.

If you drink lots of pop, then you'd need extra acidophilus because white sugar does kill off the bacteria. The carbonation and acid in cokes probably doesn't help either.

But it's a great natural aid to eating and digestion, which is extremely simple and easy to keep with you for any problems or need.

Acidophilus is also the first line of defense in the intestinal immune system. The good bacteria are the first things to deal with any germs or bad bacteria that enter by the mouth or food. So if your balance of good bacteria is off or low, then the germs have better chance of growing in the intestines and getting into the rest of the body.
