How do you find out what size a vitamin capsule is prior to purchasing a jar?

My child can only swallow small capsules. There are vitamins I want to order, but fear that I will open the bottle to find huge capsules. How do I find out what size the capsule is before I purchase?

My child has autism and requires many supplements due to being a picky eater and having difficulty digesting dairy and wheat. We have taught him how to swallow pills because he won't tolerate the grainy texture of most chewables.

It is better to buy them at a place that you can open the jar or bottle and see for yourself. Like at a health food store. Usually, if the owner is kind enough, they will oblige you if you ask them if they wouldn't mind if you took a look first. Sometimes, they even have some open already for you to sample.
