Eat corn, beans, peas, prunes, grapes, raisins, Grape Nuts, broccoli and/or lettuce. All will work and help prevent constipation.

And the old saying, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away" is really true. If you eat an apple a day with the peel, it will work as a roto rooter in the bowels and you are less apt to develop diverticulitis. Juices will not work, you have to eat the apple with the peel to clean the colon properly.

You also want to drink alot of water to help loosen the stool but you still need to get fiber in your diet, too.
