Are generic medicines just as effective as major brand name medicines? Example: Generic Ibuprofen v.s. Advil

Chemically, they are identical. The pricing difference is due to the fact that (1) generics do not have to amortize the cost of the research and development, and (2), they do not advertize. Buy the generic everytime... Same effectiveness, less cost to you.
