Modest...? You don't use it, but know that lots of people mix it with other drugs...? That indicates you are believing what you are told, and don't know the truth. I was asking for people who can sight their sources.

I think it's impossible to choose a true BEST answer when I asked a question that doesn't even have a right or wrong answer. I like the responses from Kim, our horticulture expert, and the one following that with links to info. (I'm sorry I don't have all screennames in front of me on this editing screen.) This question has to go to voting for best answer.

For the record, I don't smoke MJ, nor do I want to. That said, recreationally, it makes no sense to me that alcohol consumption is legal and MJ is not. Legalize it, monitor it, tax it, be done with it.

As for medicine, why not? In TCM, we use all sorts of herbs, some of which are many times more dangerous than MJ in the wrong quantities. I would love to be able to use it in liniments and poultices--and it's no more dangerous than what's in them now (less dangerous in many cases).

In conventional medicine, we use drugs many times more dangerous and addictive than MJ, so what's the problem? Why should it be OK for a chronic (no pun intended) pain victim to take vicodin or oxycodone or methadone but not MJ? It makes no sense. Legalize it.
