yesterday i only chewed one tablet up. thought i should ask about the negative effects of chewing 2 tablets up before i did it, but i already did. so is that bad?

Don't worry, don't take to many, but two is fine.
I take 2 Benadryl pills every night at bedtime, to help me sleep. Benadryl is quite safe at that dose; in fact, I read a medical article once in which the doctor said up to 4 Benadryl pills were OK. Two pills will tend to make you fairly drowsy.
