Are these signs of a panic attack or hyperventilation or worse?!

Question:

Are these signs of a panic attack or hyperventilation or worse?

I am a 21 year old female in relatively good health. Last week I experienced these symptoms: chest discomfort, chest tightness, heart palpatations, rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, hard breathing as if being choked, light-headed, and random bouts of dizziness. Now I have never experienced these symptoms before and all at once! These came on suddenly and unexpectedly. It's been about one week later and a little bit every day I have experienced some of the same symptoms but not all. Last night though, out of no where, I became sweaty, dizzy, my chest felt tight and my heart was palpatating and my breathing was hard as if there wasn't enough oxygen. It only lasted a few minutes and eventually went away. At this moment, I feel a bit of tightness in the middle of my chest and that's about it. Now I have researched these symptoms and they all point to a panic attack or hyperventilation. Though I have nothing to panic over. Could these be signs of something worse?

Are there any natural ways of relieving these symptoms?

Answers:

never try to "guess" what might be going on. You can develop heart problems regardless of what age. I was having what they thought were "panic attacks" come to find out I actually had a CLOT and had to start injections in my stomach to thin my blood out. The EMT's even laughed at me and said it was psycho-symptomatic.....ALWAYS get it checked out regardless of how long it takes out......and NEVER take the first opinion.....always get at least a 2nd opinion....oh and I am in my mid 20's.

oh and panic attacks to come on suddenly and WHENEVER......I had a history of them and you feel like your about to expire........they do take on a physical form of their own.
