Question:
What alternatives are there for an under active thyroid (besides hormone therapy)?
Answers:
Iodine applied to the skin will help support a thyroid. Put a quarter size dot of iodine on the skin in an area where you won't see it. If it is gone in less than 24 hours then your thyroid needs support. Just reapply on a different spot. When you have enough Iodine in your system the dot will not fade away in less than 24 hours. Try this and watch it. It really does work. People with underactive thyroids often just need supplemental iodine which can be absorbed through the skin. It will fade in quickly at first, but after a couple of weeks it takes 3 days or so to fade away. You don't use a lot. Just a dot the size of a quarter or so.
