Acupuncture?!

Question:

Acupuncture?

Have you tried acupuncture for stress/anxiety or pain? If so, were the results good (did it work)? Also, can acupuntcure be used for people struggling with their asthma?

Also, I'm not very good with needles--does it hurt?

Answers:

I am an acupuncturist, so I can tell you what my patients experiences are and my personal experience with acupuncture.

Regular treatments over a 6-8 week period not only affect the stress you may be feeling, but the treatments actually re-wire the nervous system so that you don't get stressed out by the small stuff (and it's all small stuff).

For pain it works great. I've only had a few patients over the years that don't get great and lasting relief. The longer you've had the pain, the more sessions it may take.

As for the pain of the needles, I personally find acupuncture pretty uncomfortable; I seem to be sensitive to the needles. I use very fine needles in the clinic, and over, say, 60% of my patients say they don't even feel the needles except for a "qi sensation". These needles are nothing like getting a shot with a great big needle
