Is acupuncture a viable treatment for an arthritic knee?!

Question:

Is acupuncture a viable treatment for an arthritic knee?

Never done it, never known anyone who has. I am, however, open to trying acupuncture if I thought it might help.

Do you have any experience with acupuncture and arthritis in the knees? Thanks!

Answers:

I used to work for a chiropractor who also used acupuncture as a pain relieving adjunct to the chiropractic. Many people felt relief with acupunture, but it will not cure it. It only relieves pain (in some people). Other treatments include IFC (intra-ferential current - a type of electric stimulation) or a treatment which combines ultrasound therapy with the IFC. Good luck.
