Question:

Is there equivelent of Albuterol/Advair in herbal/naturalpathic remedy for Asthma??

Answers:

I don't know if it is the "equivalent" because I haven't studied Albuterol or Advair, but there is an alternative.

Ephedra is wonderful for asthma, even in kids. When used properly, it is not dangerous. You can still purchase Ephedra in bulk in online stores. Use one rounded teaspoon per cup of boiling water to make a tea. Lemon and honey makes it more palatable. If you can't find Ephedra, try looking for Mormon Tea, which has similar properties.

To make a spray similar to an inhaler, put about 1 cup of cut herb into a 2 cup glass jar. Cover with Everclear or Vodka until there is about 1/2 inch of liquid on top. Apply a plastic or ceramic lid and shake. Leave this in a dark place or cover with brown paper and leave on the counter top. Shake it once or twice a day for two weeks. At the end of that time, strain out all the herb (a coffee filter works well). The medicinal properties of the herb have been extracted into the alcohol. Put this in an amber (brown) bottle with a sprayer and use like an inhaler.

Alternatively, Ginkgo biloba extract works somewhat and is more easily obtained. Most health food stores keep the liquid extract on hand. Osha root in tea or extract is good to clear mucus. Also taking Bioflavinoids helps. And NOW Foods makes a wonderful product called Respir-All that has Quercetin (a bioflavinoid), Nettles & Bromelain (a digestive enzyme that acts to reduce inflamation when taken without food).
