My husband has a boil on his knee-its swollen and the dr. cut it and drained it ,any other suggestions?
the doc put him on antibiotics but its still swollen and red,

a friend suggested (black salve) ichthammol-i finally found it at publix pharmacy, its also called drawing ointment-he applied it last night and his swelling has gone down alot,it says to apply twice daily so we will see how it goes, thanks everyone for all th advice

Topically, goldenseal root is a wonder-working antibiotic. Just open a capsule and sprinkle over the moistened wound. It will stain yellow but will heal a boil almost overnight.
Internally, Burdock Root taken as a tea is great blood purifier. Either boil the root 5 minutes, then steep 5 minutes, strain and drink, or buy liquid extract and put 30 drops in a cup of hot water. Drink 2x daily for a couple of weeks. Safe for everyone.
Make sure your husband is not diabetic as recurring boils are one symptom of high blood sugar.
