Some questions about hot springs?!

Question:

Some questions about hot springs?

Yesterday I went to a hot spring nearby, I tought it would be relaxing and so, it was 210° F and with limestone and sulfur, I think, but the water was conditioned.
It was agreable at the begining, but after a while, I felt dehydrated so I drunk two small bottles of water, but when I returned to the bathtub I felt like I had to... vomit, and after a while I felt extremly dizzy, is that normal?

Answers:

Sounds like you were overheated, and your blood pressure may have elevated. It couldn't have been 210'F, that's just under boiling, however, you maybe should have gotten out for awhile and cooled. Next trip, take extra cold water to drink, and make your soaks short with breaks. You also say the water was conditioned, was it a hot spring where they pumped the water into a regular pool, so they used cleaning agents to care for the pool? I wouldn't think that could effect you as you described, but to let you know, the natural hot springs in the area I live, are cleaned out by the Forest Service. Actually they drain each pool, and shovel up all the dead skin and other minerals and yukky gross stuff that settles to the bottom. It's quite disgusting, and smells horrible. After each cleaning, they allow the pool to fill and move to the next one.
