Has anyone herbs or other ways that has helped strenthen your lungs?

I am 39 years old. I have been running for a year now. My body (legs, back, and knees) are feeling great but I struggle with my lung strenth. I see adds for herbs and diets and was wondering what other methods people have used to strengthen the lungs.
