Estrogen - What else can I use?
My doctor has prescribed a dose of estrogen inserted in my vagina twice a week. I really don't want to do this (even though it works). I would like to be able to go to my Health Food Store and get something that would be even half effective. What are the latest things for women about 55. No jokes please....... I have heard them all.

That is actually the best thing you can do. Anything you take orally will not have near the same effect as introducing it directly to the vagina. What your doctor is likely trying to do is keep up your mucus production and prevent thinning of the vaginal walls. another thing you should do is find a boyfriend. Regular sexual activity is actually one of the best things for keeping the vaginal walls healthy, the same way brushing your teeth is good for your gums.... Use it or lose it as they say
