i want to know is low tobacco cigarettes safer than normal cigarettes as claimed by the companies.

No. I'm a heavy smoker, and they are all just as dangerous. Keep in mind that for one thing, if you smoke lights, you're more likely to smoke more cigarettes than you are when you're smoking full flavor cigs. Plus, all of them have all the nasty stuff, so you just shouldn't start.
