are there any supplements that are approved to reduce lactic acid buildup?!

Question: Are there any supplements that are approved to reduce lactic acid buildup?
For swimmers, sprint racing specifically.

Answers:

Anything that helps with circulation can help to prevent Lactic Acid from building up in the muscles. L-Arginine is probably the most popular and commonly used by athletes (especially body builders, but other athletes as well) as you can safely take larger amounts of it... the more you take, the more likely you are to have loose stools or diarrhea, though.
Aside from that, you could try L-Citrulline (commonly used with L-Arginine), Butcher's Broom, Cayenne, Niacin, or some others that would help less but are good for circulation in general. I personally use L-Arginine after hard workouts and it always helps to speed up my recovery and help my muscles to not be as sore, too... I can certainly tell when I've forgotten to take it. Good luck and I hope I helped!

Creatine Monohydrate

Here is the summary of a study done on swimmers on the results of creatine: "...Cr supplementation enhances the dynamic strength and may increase anaerobic metabolism in the lower extremity muscles, and improves performance..." [1,2]

A safe and natural supplement that has been used since the 70s. It should be available at local supplement stores.
