This might sound stupid but why can't we have fruit vending machines just like those for coke and snacks?
Answers:
There are vending machines that are refrigerated that will hold fruits, canned juices and sandwiches. I saw my first one when I was a freshman in college, back in the dark ages :)
As mentioned in other comments, the turnover in stock would have to be great enough to offset the chance of spoilage and the initial investment in the machine. If you can't find a vending machine company that provides such machines, it is possible to go to a place like SAM's or Costco and buy your own.
Maybe you could start a fresh produce vending route and corner a market.
