it is a type of fungus
a natural way to fix it try the following
wash twice a day
with cool water
for one L of water (4 cups)
put in 2 table spoons of vinegar
2 table spoon salt sea salt is best
dry very good
if possible get sun light on the area
even through an open window or at the very least from a lamp at least 20 Min's or longer
get as much air on the area as possible
after the 20 Min's use powder
corn starch is the best
this will help keep you dry
you may have to put the powder on more than once in a day
they do have some anti-fungals at drug stores it changes from country to country so just ask at the store if not do the above it will help it will just take time
One thing to watch
if the skin is broken there can also be a bacterial infection going on. We have bacteria all over our bodies and once the skin is broken the bacteria can move in. so if it does not get better you may need a special combination of creams to get rid of it. And they have to come from a Dr.
