Has anyone heard of clary sage oil for getting labor started?!

Question:

Has anyone heard of clary sage oil for getting labor started?

have been researching many websites on this subject. I hear that it causes regular effective contractions. I went into labor about 3 weeks ago and they stopped it. Now i'm at the safe stage 38 weeks and since suffering some complications such as pubic bone separation (extremely painful) my dr has given me the go ahead to try some things to jumpstart labor if i want to. I have a section scheduled in a week but she will do it sooner if i can get things jump started (legal reasons) . i only want advice on this oil and its effectiveness or anyon else tht has used it.

Answers:

I know you only wanted info on the clary sage but... like the previous reader, Castor oil is great. Take 1-2 T. in some o.j. in the morning, and repeat if you need to in several hours, though you probably won't have to. ;D

Nipple stimulation (breast pump) paired with this, and alternating with blue and black cohosh tinctures every 15 minutes. Your midwife can help you with the dosing, it's different with everyone. I took 15 drops under my tongue, first the blue, then 15 min. later the black. Get this at a health food store, the alcohol based is better than the glycerine based. Try it for a couple hours...

Evening primrose oil by mouth at night and used as a suppository at the same time. Insert 2-3 capsules vaginally at bed, it triggers prostaglandin and can help ripen your cervix, but your cervix may already be really thin and short if you started labor weeks ago.

This site has helped me in the past.

I would start with the cohosh's, nipple stimulation and primrose oils first, then the next day try the castor oil. Starting small and going your way up is the best policy, IMHO.
