I want to become a massage therapist and work at a spa. Does it pay good money??!

Question:

I want to become a massage therapist and work at a spa. Does it pay good money??

Answers:

Actually, working at a spa, the massage therapist either gets a flat hourly rate, plus tips or a percentage of each massage. I know a guy who did massage at a resort/spa, they charged $90 an hour, he got $20 an hour.
I work for myself, $60 an hour/$40 half hour. Some weeks are busy, some are slow. Last week I only did 6 one hour, this week so far I've got 4 half hours scheduled, next week I've got 8 one hour scheduled.
And an ethical, licensed therapist doesn't do "happy endings". It ticks me off that massage has that stigma attached to it. I paid a lot of money, spent a lot of time to become a massage therapist. If a client even hints to wanting or expecting anything "extra", he's out the door AND I still make him pay for the massage.
