Experience with Coumadin and its side effects!?
I am on coumadin for a DVT in my left leg. Its been a month and a half that I have been on the meds. I have some pains and concerns sometimes and Im not sure if they are something to worry about or not. It is nothing intolerable.. just annoying. When I was diagnosed with the blood clot I was so shocked that I had one bc the pain wasnt HORRIBLE. Im just wondering if anyone has experienced side effects from coumadin and to what extent. I know what they are. I have read all about it, but I want to hear from a real person who has experienced problems with it or what it feels like to have a clot in your lungs and what not. I will ask my doctor as well.... I know how everyone on here always says just to ask the doctor!

My grandmother took it but it was for hardening of the arteries, not for a BC. She had to go to the doctor every 6 weeks for blood tests to make sure everything was within certain limits and she bruised really, really easy so she wore long sleeves alot because of the bruises on her arms from cleaning around the house.
One time she accidentally hit her leg with a stool and it took quite a while to get that to heal so be careful of hurting yourself. If you do, don't put it off like she did, get to the doctor right away so they can treat you immediately and help it heal quicker.
