I am looking for people who have had the Lapband surgery. I need to get someone opinion on this procedure.?

I have it. Its great. Insurance covered it since my weight gain was from medication. Lost 50 pounds so far. Had it done in August of last year. But it isn't a quick fix. It is just a tool to aid with weight loss. You still have to eat right and exercise or it won't work. I also like that there is no stomach stapling like with gastric bypass and it is completely reversible since it is only a band around your stomach, it can be taken off if you want.

Also the first post is incorrect, you don't have to be grossly overweight to have the procedure, Im 5'10 and was midly overweight,I was a size 14, which with my height, isn't anywhere near grossly overweight, it is really average actaully. So its based on your BMI to see if you qualify. You can check your BMI online, just google and type BMI and you'll see several sites.
