Would you go to the Dr. for a cough instead of trying OTC medicine first?

I work for a dr. office and ppl come in almost everyday for a cough w/o tryin anything OTC. Now I have seen wheat some of these ppl pay for their dr. visits and it is just much cheaper to go to the drug store and but some cough medicine then spend $100 to see the dr. who is either gonna prescribe nothing or perscribe the damn cough medicine. So I am confused why ppl wanna spend more damn money.

I probably would just let my cough run its course. I wouldn't take medicine or see a doctor. I agree with you completely. People are too paranoid sometimes.
