Should you drink tea or coffee when taking herbal medicines?!

Question:

Should you drink tea or coffee when taking herbal medicines?

I'm just wondering as I have heard that you aren't meant to, i heard that you are meant to brush your teeth with mint toothpaste. can some one let me know as I want to get the best out of the tablets! Am taking 5HTP, vitamin B complex and gingko. I drink 2 cups of tea a day, is this stopping them working? Thanks.

Answers:

It depends on what you are taking the herbal medicines for. ideally if you can it would be to give up the tea for something more beneficial, the regular tea soaks the B vits and reduces the amount of benefit to you hair and nails. the best tea to drink with your herbal medicines is green tea (not too much) or it will soak up the vitB, hibiscus tea is the best of all, it doesn't soak up any vitamins and helps with high blood pressure. Yet all may affect the colour of teeth. Signal toothpaste is less abrasive than others because it takes more time to break down discolouration.
After all said and done a good nights sleep, good diet and exercise and a happy positive outlook goes along way to curing many ills. good luck
