Hi,
I have found the Drake Institute to be very effective in treating ADD / ADHD and an accompanying language disorders. Although the cost is out of pocket many insurances will reimburse for parts of the evaluation and treatment. I have found the staff to be attentive to my needs and allowed me to reduce symptoms of my ADD. I wasn't sure I had any problems at all and I needed to be convinced that I did have an issue that could be helped. The brain mapping process that is part of the evaulation I had was awesome. It showed the language disorder that I had without me saying anything to the staff.
Going through the treatment was a bit hard because of the number of sessions and time needed to resolve the problems I had. You need to be dedicated to improving your situation like I was to be successful. Following all steps of my treatment plan and directions of the staff helped me overcome. It has been 2 years since my last session and I have been able to accomplish so much.
In my follow up brainmap it showed significant changes which is a great reinforcement for me to continue with the techniques I learned during treatment.
The staff is friendly and helpful. They understood what I was going through and made sure that I achieved my goals.
