The druggies seem to be able to get their drugs anyway, and they're incredibly stupid in how they use them. If we surrendered in the "war on drugs" the only major effects, it seems to me, would be that people with chronic pain would be able to get better treatment, and drug-seekers wouldn't have to pull their scams on doctors all the time, so there would be happier and more trusting doctors across the country.
